Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Lhasa at Gongkar Airport & Drive to Lhasa (3600m/11811ft), 65 km, 1hr
Arrive at Gongkar Airport. Meet and greet by guide and after immigration formalities, enjoy a scenic drive to Lhasa. Check in at your hotel and rest to acclimatize to the high altitude of 3660 meters. Take a light walk around the hotel area in the afternoon for some sightseeing. Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 02: Sightseeing Tour of Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Market
After breakfast, proceed for Potala Palace the iconic winter residence of the Dalai Lama, featuring 10,000 shrines and over 200,000 images. After the Potala palace visit to Jokhang Temple the most sacred temple in Tibet, founded by Queen Bhrikuti.
Visit Barkhor Market to explore the lively bazaar, rich with Tibetan handicrafts and local artifacts. Your guide will escort you back to the hotel. Overnight in Lhasa
Day 03: Drive to Gyantse (3950m /12956ft), 265km, 4 hrs
Breakfast at the hotel, Depart Lhasa for Gyantse, driving approximately 4-5 hours. Enjoy lunch in a local village along the way. Visit Pelkhor Chode Temple upon arrival in Gyantse, famous for its Khumbum Stupa with 112 chapels. Overnight: Hotel in Gyantse.
Day 04: Drive to Shigatse (3,900m/12795ft), 90km, 2 hr
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Shigatse (90 km), the second-largest city in Tibet. Visit the Tashilumpho Monastery, one of the largest functioning monasteries in Tibet, featuring magnificent chapels. Explore local markets for souvenirs and experience Shigatse's culture. Overnight: Hotel in Shigatse (Breakfast included).
Day 05: Drive to Shegar (4200m/13776ft), 390km, 6hrs
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Shegar, driving approximately 5 hours along the Friendship Highway. Cross the Gyatso La Pass (5220m) and enjoy stunning views. Experience the picturesque Tibetan landscape, monasteries, and nomadic camps along the route. Overnight: Hotel in Shegar (Breakfast included).
Day 06: Trip to Rongbuk (5100m/16728ft); Drive to Old Tingri (4300m/14107ft), 100km (OW), 3hrs Breakfast at the hotel.
After breakfast check out and drive to Rongbuk Monastery, passing through Pang La Pass for breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks. Visit Everest Base Camp (5150m), approximately 15 minutes’ walk from Rongbuk. Afternoon drive back to Old Tingri. Overnight in Old Tingri.
Day 07: Drive to Kyirong (2300m/7544ft), 240km, 4hrs
After breakfast drive from Old Tingri and drive along Peku Tso Lake to Dzonkha (Kyirong Xian). Cross the Yangdo La Pass (5326m) to reach the border town of Kyirong. Overnight in Kyirong.
Day 08: Drive to Kathmandu (1300m/4265ft), 170 km, 10hrs
After breakfast, drive to the border for immigration formalities. Cross into Nepal by foot and meet your Nepali representative on the other side. Drive to Kathmandu, passing through beautiful landscapes and towns like Syabrubensi and Dunche. Experience the bustling traffic as you make your way to the city.

Visa Information
Entering Tibet via Mainland China:
- Chinese Visa Application: Obtain a tourist visa (L type) from your home country. Documents needed for Tibet will be supplied by your travel agency.
- Visa Processing Time: Typically takes 3 days to 1 week.
- Required Documents for Tibet Travel Permit:
- Color scan of passport (submit 30 days prior to travel).
- Copy of the Chinese visa (submit 20 days prior to travel).
- Permit Delivery: The Tibet Travel Permit will be delivered to any city in China before travel to Lhasa. It is required at immigration.
- Gateway City Recommendation: It's advisable to stay for at least one night in a gateway city in China before flying to Lhasa.
Entering Tibet via Kathmandu, Nepal:
- Tibet Group Visa: Apply for this visa; the processing takes 4 working days (Monday to Friday).
- Required Documents for Group Visa:
- Color scan of passport (submit 30 days prior).
- 1 color MRP-size photo as per Chinese Embassy guidelines.
- Arrival Planning: Guests must arrive in Kathmandu according to the embassy's working days and flight schedules.
New Rules:
- Group Requirement: A minimum of 4 travelers is generally required for the group visa; however, a minimum of 2 is sometimes accepted if the other 2 cancel with a fee.
General Information:
- Passport Requirements: Passports must be valid for more than 6 months and should be ordinary passports.
- Using the Same Passport: The same passport used to apply for the Tibet permit must be used during travel. Notify in case of passport changes immediately to avoid trip cancellations.
- Connecting Travels: Careful planning is required if you're traveling to and from China and Tibet to avoid complications with visas.
- Embassy Holidays: Chinese embassies are closed during certain holidays but may accept early applications.
- Cultural Sensitivity Briefing: Important for safety and awareness during travel in Tibet.

- 35-21 days before arrival: 30% of the tour cost.
- 21-14 days before arrival: 60% of the tour cost.
- Less than 14 days or no-show: 100% of the tour cost.
